Squatting to Poop
The Westerner’s ultimate bathroom nightmare!
It may seem “third world” to us, but in reality it is much healthier for us.
Did you know that we humans are designed to squat when we poop? Squatting makes it easier and healthier on your body to pass stools.
We start our children off correctly, using a potty in squat position and then we 'civilize' them and re-train them to sit on the modern toilet.
Squatting puts less strain on the large intestine and is the best position for bowel movements
Some researchers have compared the anatomical predicament created by sitting on a toilet to trying to defecate through a kinked garden hose. It just doesn’t work.bend, called the anorectal angle, is kinked which puts upward pressure on the rectum and keeps the feces inside. The sitting posture actually keeps us in ‘continence mode’. This makes elimination difficult and incomplete, creating the need to STRAIN.
